Welcome to Sinethemba Swartland.
The Swartland is situated in the Western Cape, about 65km north-west of Cape Town, on the West Coast
route.
In our 21 years of supporting our needy and poor community, we are also promoting holistic wellness
through sustainable partnerships, local and globally, and we are grateful for our abundant blessings
received and partner relationships built, in this time.
We feel that it is time for us to explore even more avenues to broaden our impact and make more of a
difference to our communities in the Swartland.
The average conditions of our Swartland communities are in a better state than most poor South African
communities, but we strongly feel that we could still offer more. However, we cannot continue with the
same *vision without valuable partners such as yourself.
For Sinethemba to continue to grow in the already existing programmes of holistic wellness, i.e. support of
persons living with disabilities, care of the elderly, victims of gender based violence, food security and
school dropouts etc, we are in need of your ongoing kindness, understanding and support. While the
Swartland provides a safe and stable environment and future for your employees, Sinethemba will provide
peace of mind to you and your workforce, by looking after their families at home.
Now that we have Darling on the DOH contract, where we do regular outreaches (Teenage pregnancies,
Cancer days, TB Dots, daily screenings, Nutrition, Antenatal, School holiday programmes, etc) we have so
much more clear focus on our other projects/programs, for example our programme for adults living with
disabilities in the Swartland region.
For our Happy Hearts program, we receive funding from the Department of Social Development for 35(20
physically, accommodated by us twice a week in our centre, and 15 bedbound members being served
weekly at home) of our 179 members (another 219 are on a waiting list).
We further strive to provide sufficient and equal opportunities that address the basic rights of persons with
disabilities with our Nutrient Support, Education, Awareness Campaigns and Skills Development.
Sinethemba has been awarded the former “Dalia House” that we will set up as a safehouse for woman and
children who have been victims of gender- based violence. We will be working closely with the SAPS and
Social Services. Many more programmes will be run from there, including support to children with Foetal
Alcohol Syndrome.
Through our SEF, DOH and wellness promoters- programmes, we provide support and visits to the creches,
schools, and night shelter (health talks, tooth inspection, hygiene, etc) to only mention but a few.
Our board of executives, Mrs. D Phillips (retired School inspector), Mr D de Kock (Global manager in wellknown global IT company) and Me B Blignaut (Senior accountant at solar farm, amongst other), are strong leaders and dedicated to guide and support our CEO Heinelize Knoesen (a BA Hons in Community
Development graduate) to ensure all fundings are well spent and controlled.
To meet our financial responsibilities towards our Human Resources, accommodation, transport, nutrition
programme and toiletries (adult diapers etc), we dependent on our business communities for assistance.
For these reasons we have decided to approach you and your company to strengthen our hands in making these services a success.
If you are in any way able to support us in cash or kind, it will be highly appreciated.
It is an absolute honour for Sinethemba to have been associated with such wonderful partners and we would like to believe that our partnership will continue in the future.
We are available to do a presentation to your company if needed.
